Assem Zhaksybay (she/her) is a dedicated professional passionate about promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and fostering an engaging learning environment. Assem holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and the Study of Religion from the University of British Columbia, where she focused on gender studies, study of religion, sociology of sexuality and race studies. She is particularly interested in social change and advocating for the dismantling of systemic barriers and oppressions.
With experience in learning and development, experiential education research and project coordination, Assem has developed a strong skill set in supporting and implementing impactful learning programs. In her role as Project Coordinator, Assem supports project delivery and coordination.
