2SLGBTQIA+ community members and advocates say the past year has been difficult and scary amid a notable rise in hate crimes, threats and protests, particularly for those who are transgender and non-binary. The solution, many say, is education among and support from allies to counter homophobia and anti-trans hate.

At Inclusivity, we believe that dialogue and connection are critical to building bridges to inclusion, equity and safe spaces for all. We condemn all acts of violence and hate, and we acknowledge and respect cultural diversity – these aren’t always easy conversations to have but we must use courage and humility to learn from one another to affect positive social change.

Join us November 21st as we host our friend and gender strategist Kai Scott to explore the following:

  • Foundational concepts and terminology
  • The reality and challenges faced by trans and non-binary people
  • Commonly spread myths and misconceptions
  • How we can take action, build bridges and offer support

Facilitator: Kai Scott (He/Him), Gender Strategist, TransFocus

Kai pairs his technical skills from 15 years as a social scientist conducting social impact assessments with his lived experiences as a trans man to develop innovative solutions for greater inclusion of gender diversity. He uses exploratory, evidence-based methods and quantitative and qualitative tools—like interviews, surveys, systems reviews and spatial analyses—to develop solutions that create real, measurable change.
