Building the skills to lead people, performance and culture

Middle Management Fundamentals is a practical learning experience designed to help managers strengthen the core skills required to lead effectively in today’s workplace. Through three interactive sessions, participants build the mindset, tools and confidence to lead themselves, lead performance, and shape the culture of their teams.

Each session combines practical frameworks, discussion and real workplace application so participants leave with skills they can immediately put into practice.

Program Overview

Format: 3 X ½ Day Sessions (10 hours training + 4 hours preparation & application)
Audience: Middle managers, team leads, and emerging leaders responsible for people and team performance

Effective leadership starts with self-awareness. In this session, participants explore the mindset and responsibilities of middle management and how to shift from individual contributor to people leader. Key topics include:

• The role of middle management in organizational success
• Self-awareness and leadership style
• Shifting from doing the work to enabling others to succeed

Session 2: Lead Performance - Getting Results Through Others

Strong managers know that performance is built through people. This session focuses on the core leadership skills needed to support employee growth, accountability and results. Key topics include:

• Coaching and effective one-on-one conversations
• Giving feedback that builds performance
• Influencing up, down and across the organization

Managers play a powerful role in shaping the culture of their teams. This session focuses on how leaders create environments where people feel supported, challenged and able to contribute their best work. Key topics include:

• The manager’s role in building team culture
• Creating inclusive environments that encourage diverse perspectives and innovation
• Psychological safety for high performance and healthy teams

Learning Approach

This program is designed to support learning beyond the workshop sessions. Participants are encouraged to apply new skills in their day-to-day work through a combination of guided activities and peer learning. Program elements include:
