Inclusive Fundraising Practices Training

In this session, we will discuss the challenges created by current fundraising models that prioritize donor-centric attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours. As a result, donor assumptions are reinforced, fundraiser stereotypes are upheld, and tokenizing practices create both barriers and harm to staff coming from traditionally marginalized groups. We will explore considerations for an inclusive, community-centric approach to fundraising – one that challenges our assumptions about who our current and potential donors are; influences how we communicate with and build trust with community stakeholders; and builds equity into philanthropic systems to address power, privilege, and safety for all.
