Sagana (she/her) is a researcher who explores the intersection of attention and memory. She received her BSc from York University, and both her MA and PhD from the University of Toronto (UofT). She currently works as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UofT studying memory and category learning using neuroimaging techniques. Through her work with these neuroimaging datasets, she has gained extensive experience developing novel analysis pipelines that (1) automate statistical analyses with large datasets, (2) account for the common pitfalls of developmental research (e.g., missing data), and (3) ask nuanced questions about how individual differences shape behaviour.
Her research specialization at the intersection of two different fields—both cognitive neuroscience and developmental psychology—has also provided invaluable training on project management and leadership with various groups. She has created strategic plans to implement new research programs, led the creation of project timelines across different research teams, supervised project implementation stages carried out by other team members, and evaluated research output. Because of these experiences, she is eager to work with new teams to develop studies and lead large-scale research programs.
She aims to study the human experience using a multifaceted approach. She values working with participants to devise data-driven approaches that best characterize their unique life experiences. She is very excited to be part of the Inclusivity team and develop data-driven approaches that foster equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
